1.Lula Café

Looking for a low key but funky spot for a sumptuous and impressive breakfast to start your day with? Lula Café got you covered!

This is a Logan Square staple is located at Logan Square Auditorium. With a pleasant breakfast menu which includes Buttermilk Pancakes, Tofu and Vegetable Scramble, Lox Plate, Classic Lula Breakfast Burrito which is stuffed avocado, green chile, tomato, onion, organic eggs, potato and cheddar and many more. You can also order from the bar a cup of coffee while waiting for your order. Lula Café opens at 9am daily with the exception of Tuesdays which is usually when it’s closed.

2.M. Henry

Healthy food is always tasty enough to eat at this lovely, daytime-only café. Applauded as one of Chicago’s best breakfast and brunch spots, M. Henry focuses solely on quality, organic ingredients and also offer meat-free options, but they are fine with a little butter, cheese and sugar every so often. The unique menu offers blackberry bliss hotcakes, a fried egg sandwich, black bean cake with ‘drunken eggs’ and the Vegan Epiphany for vegetarians. This is a must-try spot. The restaurant opens at 8am daily except Mondays.

3.Sweet Maple Cafe 

For the best delicious homemade, old-fashioned breakfast at incredible prices, Chicagoans should make their way to Sweet Maple Café. The menu offers variety of fresh, most wholesome breakfast meals ranging from their Big Breakfast Entrees to the Pancakes and French Toast to Country Scrambles, you’ll taste the love in every single bite served with your choice of beverage. Their Sweet Milk Biscuits is worthy for a cheat day. The Café is opened all week through to the weekend at 7am and closes at 2pm.

4.Beatrix

This is one of the perfect spots to go to for Breakfast whenever you find yourself downtown at either River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook. Beatrix is a great choice for early risers. Their menu is inspired by food made in Lettuce’s test kitchen. If you’re in a rush, you can choose to grab fresh-squeezed juice or coffee with pastry. You can also choose to relax, grab a seat and enjoy some yummy breakfast meal like the Avocado Benedict, Blackberry-topped lemon pancakes, Spicy Shakshouka, Avocado Toast, Harshbrowns and many more. Beatrix is opened daily at either 7am or 8am depending on the location.

5.Tre Kronor

Nothing beats having breakfast or an early morning business meeting at Tre Kronor. Not only does their traditional rustic room provides a cozy Swedish bistro but also, their breakfast menu have a wide range of tasty Scandinavian meals such as pickled herring, gravlax, potato pancakes or you can satisfy the sweet tooth with Cinnamon rolls or Danishes before delving into the Swedish meatball sandwiches and cheesy omelettes. An ideal spot for a lovely breakfast with your loved ones.

6. Ann Sather

This is one of the best eateries in lakeview neighbourhood. Chicago’s sweetest cinnamon rolls belongs to Ann Sather, so if you’re a big lover of cinnamon rolls, this spot is a must try. It’s three locations at Belmont Avenue, Granville Avenue and Broadway are well known for breakfast hangouts with variety of options on the menu to pick from. You can decide to order for Eggs Benedict, Breakfast wraps, A La Carte, Pancakes, Waffles and more or even their Swedish specialities like the roasted duck with lingonberry glaze all in huge portions and really tasty to go with any beverage of your choice. This is one of the few places you get to eat way more than what you pay for because of the huge portions served. A great joint for a budgeted breakfast meal.

7.Batter & Berries

Making up your mind on what to have for breakfast can sometimes be difficult, especially when you have a variety of tantalizing French toast to pick from. Fortunately, Batter & Berries makes it much easier by offering their French toast flight for diners to enjoy with a sampling of their delicious flavors. Aside the French toast, you can also get to enjoy creative pancakes, sandwiches, homemade sausages, omelettes and other breakfast eats. With welcoming excellent service, this cozy atmosphere is located at Lincoln Avenue. When visiting, don’t forget to take advantage of the BYOB policy.

8.Cafe Marie-Jeanne

#TreatYoSelf to the breakfast sandwich experience at this French-inspired Humboldt Park café. The options are endlessly tasty. Start your day with a sip of espresso and enjoy the former chef of Lula Café and Rootstock, Michael Simmons’ specialities which includes the a la carte menu to pair with egg and cheese on country white bread or an English muffin, caviar toast, fresh-made cinnamon rolls, biscuits and croissants all at great prices and served in a calm dining space with mosaic-tiled tables and a tin ceiling. The café opens daily except Tuesdays. This breakfast spot is certainly worth trying out.
