Halloween in Chicago this year has been altered to help curb down the spread of Coronavirus. Although there won’t be parading through Northalsted in our Halloween costume or even party throughout the night in a ballroom, there are still ways to have a great time. Due to the current situations, there are numerous Halloween events taking place outdoor this October which includes screening of classic horror movies at the Chicago drive-in movie theatre, pop-up pumpkin patches within city limits and a display of jack-o’-lantern at Chicago Botanic Garden.
Hubub has rounded up some list of spooky events happening here in ChiTown during this month of Halloween.
Night of 1,000 Jack O’ Lanterns
Showing at the Attractions Park and Botanic Garden from the 14 October to 25 October, make it a point not to miss out on this annual ghoulish makeover. This event gathers together over 1,000 actual pumpkins sculpted by artists for the New York-based rise of the Jack O’Lanterns. Pumpkins will be placed apart from one another, but you can still be able to have a good view of their designs. Also, the trail will be mask-obligatory this year and one-way to promote social distancing.
Jojo’s Pumpkin Patch
Catch a treat and decorative gourds at Jojo’s Pumpkin Patch pop-up located in River North. A number of 6 or less people can spend time in this 5,000-square-foot space equipped with two “pumpkin domes” containing tables, hay bales and festive lights. Visitors can enjoy a variety of unique dishes from a menu including roasted marshmallow, caramel apples, Reese’s pretzel, apple pie and many more. This is currently ongoing up until 31 October and remember, tables in Jojo’s Pumpkin Patch are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
