VIRTUAL WORKOUTS TO KEEP YOU FIT AMID CONVID-19 PANDEMIC: hubub’s GUIDE

The arrival of the beautiful weather has made it more challenging to keep up with the stay-at-home-order. However, the temporal closure of gyms and fitness studios across the city has resulted in Chicagoans making effective use of virtual workouts in order to keep fit and stay active. A number of the workouts are placed on and displayed through gyms via social media and also on quiet a number of apps as well which are equally free to use.

Here is hubub’s guide to free virtual workout classes to keep you in great shape amid Convid-19 Pandemic. 

GYMS

Studio Three 

While its two Chicago branches are currently closed, studio three has put in place a rare approach in bringing together interval training, yoga and cycling in the same gym. During the day, the gym host multiple times classes on Instagram Live, specifically in the morning, lunch hour time and early evening. Busy and not able to catch up sometimes? No need to worry because if you miss a session, you get to enjoy a playback session on the app.

Planet Fitness

At 6pm daily, make it a point to get your work in outfits on and tune into the ‘no judgement’ gym’s page on Facebook for a 20-minute or less live work in led by personal trainers and other special guests. No equipment required and taking part in this virtual workout is free. The workout is usually available for playback on the Facebook page and the gym’s YouTube channel.

Core Power Yoga

After a long day working at home and possibly home-schooling the kiddos, get to end it with a feel good and relaxing yoga session with Core Power Yoga. The studio has combined a collection of free online classes available every week at any time here on demand to keep your practice moving wherever you are from home. It is important to note that classes vary in length.

Kick@55 Fitness

Even though the studio is temporarily closed down, their group of fitness instructors are popularly known for numerous high-intensity interval workout trainings which you certainly don’t want to miss out on. Their workouts are streamed daily on their Instagram page from Monday right through to Friday at 7:30am, 9am, noon and 5:30pm. The livestreams on Saturdays are at 8am and 10:30am and on Sundays at 9am and 10:30am. All livestream workouts are free through Monday, but you can get to replay or watch them again later for free whenever you want to.

YMCA 360

With variety of group exercise classes like weightlifting, barre, yoga and programs for both adults and kids, this new online community from The Y offers a variety of free, on-demand group exercise classes to make your virtual workout more fun with the family most especially with the kids. It is completely free and also, you do not have to be a member to partake in it. Bring The Y to you wherever you are!

305 Fitness 

Popularly known for making cardio a blazing dance party, 305 Fitness has around free 20 classes showcased live on its YouTube channel to lift your spirits and get your body moving right from the comfort of your home amid Convid’19 pandemic.

APPS

FitOn

With its free to download feature, you get to enjoy a variety of workouts varying from pilates to cardio to weight training right on your phone from home. It is free to use and access anytime. After downloading, you just need to sign up for free, answer a couple of questions depending on your goals and fitness levels and then after, you are all good to get started.

Nike Training Club 

This app offers endless free workouts led by instructors. The Nike Training Club App gives you the opportunity to enjoy full workouts at home with or without equipment. All you have to do is, download the app, join and get started.

FightCamp

If you are a lover of boxing, this is the right app just for you. It has a free version which has made all its contents accessible. With the free version, you get to enjoy a limited experience, but users still have variety of options for instructor-guided workouts. Simply download the app and either create an account or sign in with Facebook or your email to get you rolling.
